Summer Bucket-list:

Lots of people always want summer to be amazing, filled with different adventures and what-not whereas in reality it can often be quite drab! So this year I've decided to make a bucket-list and see how many of these I can do- some are boring and cliche I know.

  • Thorpe Park/Alton Towers
  • London trip (shopping etc.)
  • Birmingham
  • Holiday to Cumbria!
  • All nighter
  • Camp-out
  • Poker night
  • Water fight
  • Girly evenings, e.g. 90210 (mm Liam), face masks, sweets
  • Huge shopping spree- which is needed for sixth form
  • Try to lose weight and not gain it!
  • Finish reading The Diary of Anne Frank
  • Go cinema and watch two films in a row- at the moment I'm really excited to go The World's end, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are two of my favourite actors
  • Paint balling/laser tag
  • Photo bomb a randomer
  • Drunken gathering
  • BBQs
  • LOTR movie marathon
These are only a few ideas, I would appreciate anymore ideas as I don't want this summer to be drab!

Summer Outfits:

1 | 2 | 3   1 | 2 | 3   1 | 2 | 3

Recently I haven't been blogging because of lack of motivation after all my exams, I basically deflated and just felt like relaxing! But, after this beautiful heat wave we are having I was thinking what summer outfits can I wear!? A serious shopping spree is needed, so I thought I'd do a blog post a long with it to give everyone some inspiration for summer outfits. As you can see, I often pair colours, or like outfit 3 it fades out from light blue to dark blue to black.

Some outfits are definitely more suited to this 28+ degree weather, like number 2, which allows you to tan and still be cool, whereas skinnies aren't the best option! I've been sticking to high waisted skirts and simple tops, meaning I know have different tan marks across my chest and back from straps, never a good look!

5 Day Detox:

I'm taking a break out of revision to do a quick post on my recent detox! I've literally had my head in the books day after day (as I have four exams this week, boo.) I decided to do a five day detox from Stay Sharp Be Strong as my weight has been fluctuating a lot recently, and I'm sick of being happy about losing a few pounds and then the next week they're back on, even after going to the gym 5 times a week- aggravating! Anyway, it's said you can lose up to 5lbs on this detox, and I lost close to it, a cheeky 4.6lbs! You also clear your system completely, rid of toxins, clear your skin and lose bloating, and I can safely say although I felt extremely lethargic towards the end, my stomach definitely did feel less bloated and my skin cleared up so so much- still the odd spot but I was extremely happy.

The detox is a quick 5 day jobby, from a small cost of £5! You can obviously get free detoxes online, but they don't go into as much depth as this one, it explains what you have to do precisely, gives you your shopping list, some recipes to do throughout the week, and also why you should eat certain things. You basically are a vegan for the week, unless you choose to incorporate egg into your diet (as scrambled eggs, or in oaty pancakes- which I'm not a fan.) You only eat fruits, vegetables and pulses, but I had to include some other carbs into my diet towards the end as I had no energy at all and I still lost weight so don't be afraid to cave in occasionally as we're all human.

One of the things I loved about this was having a smoothie for breakfast and mixing up the flavours each morning. An example of my favourite was a mixture of grapes, pineapples and bananas- I think a banana or two is always the best base too because it gives some consistency and texture rather than just having a really watery drink- although some of mine went too far and I ended up eating them with a spoon.. oh dear. They also look delicious whatever you throw in. I found some interesting recipes which I definitely will try soon:

  • Vanilla and blueberry: it sounds more like a desert than a breakfast, and vanilla always sweetens up any dish.
  • Apple and oats: a typical breakfast mix, but in a smoothie? I also think oats and strawberry jam would be delicious! With the oats soaked in almond milk.
  • Peanut butter oatmeal: I've seen many dieting inspirations on Instagram/the blogging world go on about how much a life safer peanut butter is, but I don't see it (unless it's in a KitKat..) But I thought how about nutella? Craving this now!

So whether you want to kick start a weight loss plan, get back on track or just want to clean up your diet for an oncoming party or holiday a detox is definitely the best way to start! Also, I have new inspiration, I'm addicted to Britain's Next Top Model, all the girls on there are absolutely gorgeous and of course- no wobbly bits. Sunglasses Wishlist:

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

As England is finally getting some sunny weather I realised that I need to invest in a pair of glam, gorgeous and vintage sun-glasses as these shapes are the only ones that suit my face shape- which is very important. You don't want a huge pair of bug eyed sunnies on a tiny head (sorry Posh Becks.) I also just love the classic shape, and of course couldn't resist looking at a beautiful pair of simple Ray Bans (7) at a stupendous price of £130.. maybe I'll wait. Number 3 is such a cute pair, with a weird twist but it oddly goes- not that I'd pull them off! Thank you for reading, any comments are welcome.

Shopping list:

I'm really stuck as to what to write this week, but I thought I could do a list of loads of different shops which aren't your typical high street ones. I love most of these, but unfortunately haven't shopped from many as that's what being skint does to you. Anyway:

  • this is seriously one of the best shops for anything vintage style, I really want to buy some sort of swimwear from there. Just looking at this site will make you want to dress like a pinup girl for the week.
  • this shop is great if you're into your grungy/90s acid style look, which is quite popular at the minute- all the bright and bold colours in particular, and dare I say it.. tie dye (ick.)
  • this is my favourite eBay seller ever, but unfortunately some of the prices do get bumped up quite high but there's always something I love on there.
  • once again this shop is quite grungy but with a bit more of a gothic twist, a lot of tees/sweatshirts with logos with a twist on.
  • I could go through this shop for hours, there are so many cute thrifty finds- but the only down fall is the sizing and delivery costs eek!
  • this is probably the most expensive shop I've ever dared look at, but they do some of the coolest swimming costumes and leggings- you definitely have to have a gander.
  • and again, another thrifty vintage shop- but this time it's affordable and they have such an array of items you'd definitely be able to find something you can't keep your hands off.
  • one of the best shops for piercings, especially plugs and tunnels- it's where I've gotten most of mine from and they're affordable too!
  • I've already done a separate post about this store, but I love it too much not to mention it again.
  • this shop is pretty similar to Kukee and do an amazing selection of jewellery, but slightly grungier I'd say.
  • again, a similar jewellery site- but this one has more of a bohemian twist.
  • ..another jewellery shop.
  • this is a definite shop for all the indie style lovers, the graphic print tees with cats and whatever else they've thrown on there.
  • this shop is great for anything that's currently on trend, and does an array of styles and products.
Oh, just looking at all these shops makes me want to buy so, so much- especially some Jeffrey Campbells, my lord I've found 5 perfect pairs I want to buy, but they're too god damn expensive.. I can dream. Thanks for reading, any comments appreciated.

Date Outfit Ideas:

Today I came up with a completely random post ideas of what to wear on a date. Of course girls will spend hours and hours trying on different combinations of clothes, just to put the first set back on- girl logic! We've all been there, whether it be for a date or not, so I thought I'd do the hard work for you all. When it comes to a date, you want your outfit to be: girly, slightly flirty, flattering and of course not clash! Which I believe all three outfits achieve quite well.

1: This outfit consists of a tight crop top, skinny jeans, and flatform trainers. The garments are all very tight fitting, giving that flirty element, and are very pastel and girly colours. The total cost is £54, unless you can find cheaper version else where.

2: This outfit consists of a tight crop top, ombre maxi skirt and wedge sandals. I saw this skirt in Next yesterday and fell in love. This is also a more flattering outfit for the curvier shapes as the maxi skirt hides all the lumps and bumps, yet the crop top compliments the chest area. It's cost totals a slightly more expensive £80.

3: Lastly, this outfit consists of a loose crop top, high waisted skirt and flatforms. This is definitely the most flattering outfit for curvier shapes out of all three, as it's not tight but the short skirt is still quite flirty. It totals a cost of a jaw dropping £103, £60 of that being from the shoes, but look how adorable they are!

After doing this post I want to buy all three outfits and be taken on a romantic date, oh how hard life is. Thank-you for reading, any comments are welcome.

Weightloss tips:

I've been eating healthier (most of the time) for the past few months, and I just thought I'd do some quick tips which help lose weight as it's getting towards summer and a lot of people want to lose a few pounds or tone up. I've lost 17lbs in the last three months, but 32lbs over all from my like heaviest weight which was around a year and a half ago. So:

  • Always keep a log of your calorie/nutrient intake, I use the MyFitnessPal app on my phone, which it also has a website. There are various other ways to keep log to, such as in a journal, but I found this one the easiest to use- you can also add people, to keep track of their progress too! (My username is maddytwat if you use it already.)
  • Drink 2l or over of water a day, it really helps clear your system, fills you up, etc.
  • Cut down on fatty foods, but have a cheat meal once or twice a week, so you're less likely to binge.
  • Drink smoothies in the morning for breakfast- it's a really quick way to get in a lot of your 5 a day, you can either buy them or make them yourself.
  • Try losing weight with a friend rather than on your own, adds an element of competition which always helps. Especially at the gym, but I often prefer going on my own so no one holds me back.
  • Have some sort of inspiration/motivation/thinspo- I personally use instagram for this and have motivational clothing which is a few sizes smaller, it really does help push you to eat right or exercise.
  • Do both weight training and cardio, it's proven it burns more fat and calories, as the more muscle you have the higher your metabolism will be (thus more calories burnt.) And no, it won't make you extremely muscly.
  • Take body measurements and weigh yourself ONCE a month. It means you'll see bigger losses and won't be hung up when you have a 'bad week'. Also, measurements mean you can see which areas you're targeting the best.
  • Instead of snacking drink water or chew sugarfree gum, I do this and I've tried to cut out most snacking all together.
  • Try and make workouts more fun, do what you love to work out. Personally, I love Zumba- it's great to go with loads of friends and people don't care what you look like, even if you can't dance. There are plenty of other classes too, or even go for long walks with your earphones in.
These are just some of the tips I've found useful, and what I generally do. Thanks for reading, any comments are appreciated.
